So today my family and I have officially booked our spring break for the end of March. We decided to drive because we haven't taken a road trip to Florida in a long time. It was difficult choosing between flying or driving because they both contribute to tons of carbon emissions, but we figured that whenever we stopped for gas or to stretch, we would pick up garbage and clean up. We also will pack smart and light to limit the weight in the car, which can save some gas mileage. When we are down in Florida, we plan on shopping at farmer's markets and conserving as much as we can at our rental home. I believe it's a great way to make up for the travel from Chicago to Miami. We also found a rental home that is close to everything, so driving will be limited when we are down there. I hope many of you college students AND families that are traveling (especially driving) this spring break will remember to conserve on your vacation because even though we may be taking time off from our stressful days at work and school, the Earth is in constant stress and struggle without our help!

Remember to check your oil and tire pressure, if either one is not correct your engine may need to work harder and produce more emissions. Just one of the little things that a lot of people over look when driving. Also, the correct tire pressure will help your tires last longer and to offset the Colbertesc comment for the Simpson's style tire fire, tires are fully recyclable for products from clothing and shoes to lumber replacements and substrate material for horse tracks. Do not burn tires or for that matter railroad ties. That's just one example of the infantile ingnorance and mindless chatter of the ineducated right wing conservatist. I hope that helps with your break and remember that it is a break so relax, have fun and refresh your body and mind.
Remember, start small and make a big difference.

REALLY? You and your 'rents are going to take out time and pick up litter when you stop to fuel up or stretch? If your serious than kudos to you! I really do hate litter bugs but what I love is, is Tire Bon Fires! Ever been to one? They last for hours... They're great!
Think Black!
what burns better than that is old battery cores they make cool fires.
Hey, good thinking on your spring vacation plans.
