Water Saving Gardening

when gardening and planting you should always be aware of how much water you use. you shouldnt water on a hot sunny day. especially with a sprinkler. watering with a pot is ok but some water still evaporates the real time for watering is after dusk when it starts to get dark. during day watering water from a sprinkler is barley even used only 45% of water reaches the ground. 45%! that means that 55% is being wastedbut after dusk for every 5 minutes ot lowers the wasted and about half way to complete darkness the water wasted is a mere 14% (i dont know how it got 14 but that is what my test results showed) so the real time to garden is either before dawn or after dusk. also you shouldnt have a black colored hose because that black absorbs the suns UV rays and making it esier for the water inside of it to evaporate a white hose would do the exact oppisite it deflects the sun's UV rays. most hoses dont come in white so the best choice is yellow or green. heres a really good trick if you dont want to spend money on mulch you should use old plants that have died (i use it in my rose bush pot) and put them on the soil and then that protects the soil form drying but when they decompose they make a beutiful firtilizer *note* this trick can only be use on pots or small gardens. but if you want to buy mulch i suggest buying red not black because of what i said before.all of these tricks could save you some green$ and the Green world.
