PATIENCE! GreenOps FOB? or12 digit code?I went to the GreenOps kiosk to day to see about getting a key fob with a scannable bar code. The kiosk screen said coming soon. UPDATE: I watched how they input the recycling receipt. It seemed easier this time without the fob. I think they did not have to input a 12 digit code. I hope they are not obliged to do that behind the scenes, because they have to keep the paper slip with their coupons for their end of shift accounting. Hmm. I guess that is not my problem. END OF UPDATE. BELOW is superseded previous content. ABOVE is new stuff.
I am wondering what the deal is. Every commercial store in town has these membership loyalty keyfobs. Why not Greenopolis? If they are not implemented, i predict the kiosks will not have as much popularity. I got the receipt number entered into the website and got 19 points so far. I took the recycling receipt to the cashier and got credited with the bottle deposits. But it appears the cashier has to enter a 12 character alphanumeric code to validate the transaction at the GreenOps kiosk. That is a kludgy problem. However, my experience as a conflicts analyst teaches me to look for conflicts of interest. Is the game in Greenopolis and GreenOps to take in the cash deposits, and make it rather bothersome to redeem the deposit? Thus is THAT why the GreenOps Fobs are not yet implemented? Kind of like banks skimming float on checks? And issue points instead of US dollar cash? I have not figured out how this works yet. It looks like one feature of the not-quite-easily-figured-out website is to keep people blogging, posting, and generally parked on their posteriors in front of a screen and keyboard. Maybe that is a great idea, to keep people busy so they don't drive around wasting gas, and keep them out of the bedroom so they don't create more little resource wasting egos? Well, maybe it is working. "Whoever would rule the world must keep it entertained." My advice is to get some big time tax deductible donations to fund your enterprise, and don't try to flim flam the little people out of their bottle deposits at the kiosk and the cashier by obfuscating the process in order to pocket the deposits yourself, (not saying that is what you are doing, but WHY aren't the GreenOps FOBS available NOW? Are you trying to slow down the cashiers entering those little 12 digit codes by hand? I mean PATIENCE, OK Let's learn PATIENCE! How long does THAT take?) hahaha. Have a nice day.
