Diesel Conversion
If you own or buy a diesel powered vehicle, it can be converted to run on bio-diesel or straight vegetable oil. In fact the first diesel was actually designed to run on peanut oil or something similar rather than fossil fuel.

In Vermont
I am not sure what is going on in your areas but in Vermont, used cooking oil is in very short supply. And in New York used vegetable oil is being stolen. I suspect that conditions are similar in your area as well.
