The downside
I am not really sure what you mean by this question either but I would like to point out that living out in nature and having to commute to the closest town for work, groceries, etc. can actually be a very environmentally-selfish way to live...burns gas, emits pollution and greenhouse gases, takes up land that maybe a fox would rather birth her pups on, etc., etc...
The only way it really makes environmental sense is if you are commuting through alternative transportation or with alternative fuels (but the downside of biofuels is a whole other issue) AND if you don't build a new structure on a pretty piece of land that previously had not been inhabited...
just some thoughts to chew on...

Perhaps this was meant as a pun, but I think the word you are looking for is "granted"--taking nature for granted.

Are you talking alone, in civilization, living off the land? Because that might be hard to do with a society needing to be connected to internet and electricity almost all day long. What about cell phone towers? I know for sure that I wouldn't get any bars in the wilderness.

Well, what exactly do you mean by live in nature? Like live in the woods, off of what it has to offer and what you can grow? Or just not living in the city . . .

Well, what exactly do you mean? You could mean like building shelter from scratch with no technology and fending for yourself. Or you could mean living in the country with a regular house with technology like a computer and a tv but still when you walk outsing all you see is trees. I think you need to explain this question a little more.
I for one live in the country with a computer and tv and other electronics but when i walk outside its a yard and then som trees and a slim long driveway
