Hi,

Does anyone know what these "how green are you?" badges are?

How many points generally up

How many points generally up your badge?
I post a few things almost everyday and I'm still at orange.
Though I think that the badge explanation might be specified to showing how much you use the site, not really how green you are, because I'm sure there are plenty of people that are off composting or recycling as opposed to being on the site.

It seems somewhat petty now, but as the site grows I think people may take the badges too seriously and that could be irritating.

i don't think badges say about your greenness

beacuse your views on topic's and your love to nature say's your greeness

True

But bear in mind that there are only so many ways a website could theoretically track this - so it seems to me that the badge (at least until the beta goes completely live with new features) is more of a "participation-tracker"... and for all intents and purposes, the more you participate here, the more "green" you're likely becoming.

Cheers!

the badges are a way to show the greeness of you and to show how much you care about the green, the enviroment

Hi Sharon!

Hi Sharon!

Thanks for asking that question.

"Badges" are a neat way to show others in our community how green you are, as well as a great way to measure how green you become.

When you initially join we ask you to "Earn your green badge by taking our survey". This is how you find out just how environmentally friendly you are.

Over time you'll earn different levels of "badges" by learning, interacting, and adding to our community here in Greenopolis.

So you can start at orange (which is lower on the green scale) and work, learn, play your way up to dark green!

If you have other questions about this, please don't hesitate to ask! I should be in your buddy list, so feel free to private message me :)

hi Sammy,

If you go to http://greenopolis.com/myopolis/green_badge_quiz you can take a quiz - and the results of that quiz are a part which green badge level you are. Hope that helps!
