Green furniture for children

My wife and I have been looking for playroom furniture for our children such as a work table, chairs, easels, cubbies, cushions, and have been disappointed by the lack of information available about options using quality, non-toxic, renewable and recycled materials.  It seems to me that there is a real niche to be explored here, one that should be obvious.  What informed parent wouldn't want to know that the things that surround our children are safe for them and the environment.  We have seen a lot of products using MDF, laminants and petroleum based finishes.  Not only to these products not last, but contribute significantly to poor indoor air quality. (among the other issues).  Does anyone know of a manufacturer using FSC Wood, reclaimed rubberwood, etc, or finishes such as Whey based urethane?  Let us know.

Backround:  My wife and I own Sprout Natural Parenting with stores in Brattleboro and Burlington, Vermont.  We are always looking for high-quality and environmentally friendly products to help nurture our children and make our lives as parents a little easier...usually by simplifying them.  www.sproutparenting.com

Recycled sweater hats, quilts, etc.

This isn't furniture, but from up your way...
Lisa makes hats for adults and kids, as well as other things...
out of recycled wool sweaters.
They're not only recycled...but whimsical and warm!

Thought that you might be interested in carrying them as they might fit into your store's "mission?"
