If you went to college (or are there now), you can encourage your college president to sign the American College & University Presidents' Climate Commitment (ACUPCC) - which commits the institution to make a plan to go climate neutral and incorporate sustainability in education and research. Over 500 schools have signed on so far, and this group is having a dramatic impact.
Student and alumni support is very important when presidents consider signing.
