Natural Travel

For some time now I've been developing this idea that natural is just better. Better for your health, better for your spirit, and best of all better for the environment. This has seemed to come across as pretty accurate in food, beauty products, and exercise. But what I can't seem to find a good answer for is for transportation beyond the means of riding a bike or walking. They used to travel by horse and boat, but what other means are there for a completely environmentally safe and all natural? Bookmark This Page |

Pretty Complete List
I think that your list is pretty complete. The things to layer in now are the not completely natural but better than what we are doing now. Those are things like trains and street cars or better yet solar charged electric scooters or cars.
Good to think about a lot of these options as we get ready for the future.

For everyday business one can split self transportation into
1. Unassisted i.e. walking, jogging, running
2. Non-energy assisted i.e. roller skating, push scooters, cycling
3. Re-newable Energy Assisted i.e. draft animals, machines
4. Non-renewable Energy Assisted
We can immediately exclude Category 4 from consideration here because that mode of transportation is what is contributing to the destruction of the environment.
To make full use of Category 1, which is best used for moving around in the space nearest to us, we really need to ensure that this is planned into how we layout our living spaces. At the moment we do not do that.
Category 2 extends the amount of space that is covered by Category 1 transportation but only for those who are able to use these mechanical assists. Again at the moment our planning in many places does not cater for bicycles etc etc.
Tansportation otside of the areas covered by Categories 1 and 2 really requires Category 3 transportation.
The draft animal assists of Category 3 are fine but they are slow, they only extend the area covered by Categories 1 and 2 by a certain amount and tney need space and feeding which, with the ever increasing number of humans using up the space and food, will become a bigger and bigger problem.
For the maximum coverage we are left with the machines of Category 3. Machines that get their energy from renewable sources.
