What kinds of items do you recycle?
Submitted by ROCKstar913 on Thu, 07/17/2008 - 1:43pm.
We all know that recycling helps to keep waste out of landfills. Still, some people recyle more often than others. I wanted to get a good idea of where I stand as far as recycling goes, so here's my question: What do you recycle? Do you recycle paper? plastics? electronic waste? Please leave some comments about how you reuse and/or recycle, and give us ideas about better ways to do so. Bookmark This Page |

Magazines!
In addition to recycling plastics and paper, I don't just recycle magazines--I give them away at the gym or take them to the doctor's office for other people to read. I'm also a big fan of SIGG water bottles instead of plastic water bottles.

paper is a huge one for my
paper is a huge one for my family. Weekly newspaper, old junk mail, and computer printouts that are needed no more. Plastic and aluminum and some glass follow close behind.
Plastic, glass, aluminum,
Plastic, glass, aluminum, and paper are the ones I do regularly. I'm really trying hard to recycle things like electronic waste. I have an old computer in my closet that I'm still trying to get around to sending somewhere.
As soon as I get my own house, I'm also planning a compost pile to recycle organic waste like banana peels into nice, fresh soil for a garden :D

compost...apartment style
There are several good plans on the web regarding smaller 'on the balcony' style compost bins. The EPA's website is a great place for the 'do's and don'ts' associated with composting. You can find as many plans, as you wish to spend looking for them!

A bunch of stuff
I recycle plastic, glass and aluminum. I tried recycling cardboard and paper with my trash pickup guys, then I saw them just toss it in the trash dump truck, so I have to figure out a place to bring it.

I'd rather be camping!
