If you are talking about ethanol, then yes. This country thought it would be a good idea to divert over a quarter of our corn crops to the production of a fuel that is less efficient than petrol, a fuel that cannot be used by the majority of cars on the road, and a fuel that does not have the infrastructure to be readily available where it could be used.
But if you are talking about bio-diesel, especially bio-diesel made from algae, then no.
“Bio-fuels” is a very broad term, encompassing a large variety of production methods. Some clarification and education may be needed for people to have a better understanding.
