Get into my car!
I live in Austin, TX, but my job is in another city 12 miles away, so biking or walking is not an option. Unfortunately, we have one of the worst public transportation systems I have come across in any city our size or larger, so the bus isn't always an option, either. Additionally, the buses don't run up to where I work, nor even close enough for me to bike or walk, so I am stuck using a car. I am hoping that if the gas prices keep soaring, they'll have to do something about our system. For a city who claims to be one of the greenest in the U.S., our public transportation system REALLY needs some work. I do drive a Ford Focus, which is a P-ZEV, which I suppose is better than a gas guzzler, and when it goes out, I definitely plan to get a Smart Car or something like that, as soon as I can afford it.
