Recycling Books, BookCrossing.com
This poll reminded me of a site I use called Bookcrossing.com - the world's biggest free book club.
You can release your used books into the wild and then track where they go! So much better than a landfill.
Its free. Go to the site, sign up, and then register a used book. Then you leave the book somewhere conspicuous with a tag that says "take me I'm free" and tells the recipient how to login and say where the book is. Its really kind of addicting. Especially when a book that you've released ends up across the country or overseas.
I'm only sad that I've never found a bookcrossing book - I would love a free book and a chance to make someone else's day by logging it into the site. I think we need more sites that promote free exchange of perfectly good things.
