Would you use a more expensive biodegradable plastic trash bag?

My only concern with...
biodegradable plastic bags, is how long their life really is. I wouldn't want them to degrade before I got a chance to use them, and I wouldn't want them making a mess with leaks.

If anyone thinks for a minute that anything put into a landfill actually degrades other than some organic material such as food waste. Think again, I've read front pages of newspapers that have been buried for 20+ years. Compaction and no sunlight, no moister = A hermetically sealed vault. Hence, Todays landfills are tommorrows archaeological digs!
San Francisco Ban on polyethylene shopping bags
Here is an interesting article on biodegradable plastics. In April San Francisco Board of Supervisors' voted to institute the first ban on polyethylene shopping bags in the United States.
