Sunday, Nov 15 is America Recycles Day (ARD) and there are events planned across the United States. We’re excited to be a part of such an important event.
In fact, since we changed our mission last month from being a “general” green site to being focused on recycling and conservation, we’ve been gearing up for ARD.
One of the most important parts of our plan in celebrating this event is to hold a membership drive and give you a reward for registering with our site. We are giving 100 points to each person who registers at Greenopolis between Friday, Nov 13 at 12:01AM (EST) and Sunday, Nov. 15 at 11:59PM (PST).

before the catchphrase
I am old enough to remember the way it was and the way it was called before "recycle" entered Society's lexicon. My parents survived the (1st?) Great Depression and my siblings and I learned early to "use it up, wear it out, pass it on". My son has learned the unexpected fun in "dumpster diving" (where permitted, of course). We all take pleasure in finding new uses for old, semi-worn out things that someone else has no vision to see. "Creativity, Personal Satisfaction, and Savvy Saving" are part of our family's credo.
I encourage everyone to look with fresh eyes at what is already here, learn a new skill(like refinishing furniture or taking up sewing) and sharing your talents with others.
