See how one German designer creates stylish hats and gloves powered by the sun!

Have you ever gone snowboarding or skiing, or starting making the ultimate snowman, and in the middle of the fun your head and hands began feeling numb? I have, and I’m pretty sure that most of us out there have as well. It’s pretty hard to find hats and gloves that will keep us both toasty and looking good, but alas, now there’s a set that does just this…and it’s also eco friendly!

The set is called “Endless Warm,” and it was designed by Yiran Qian from Germany. He submitted it to Design Boom’s Green Life Competition to make a stylish and green statement.

What’s that statement? That you can actually harness the sun’s energy through small solar panels embedded on the hat and gloves! The solar panels are shaped like adorable snowflakes, so you’ll look great while the set draws in the warmth of the sun.

Okay, there are still some logistical problems to this set, like what if the sun is not shining and where will the sun’s energy be stored, but at least it’s an innovative idea.  If Mr. Qian can patent this idea and get it to work, just think of how many “hot heads” will be playing in the snow!
