Molson Coors Brewing Company
Our business practices embrace environmental stewardshipAt Molson Coors, we carefully consider environmental stewardship in all of our operations and packaging. In order to fulfill this commitment we are putting systems into place that expand our ability to measure our performance as we continually seek opportunities for improvement and track our progress. Energy from Waste BeerIn Golden, Colorado, USA, millions of pounds of spent yeast and waste beer from the beer brewing operation are converted to some two million gallons of ethanol annually, and then shipped directly to local refineries to be blended with gasoline. The “waste” is then made into animal feed. Learn More – Beer Brewer Converts Waste to Beer www.iptv.org/video/detail.cfm/1957/mtom_20080418_3333_feature [video link]
Water ConservationWater is a precious resource globally and for us it is essential to the brewing process. Without great water, we couldn’t make great beer. Our stakeholders expect us to use water responsibly and we take water stewardship very seriously. In September 2008 Peter Swinburn, CEO Molson Coors Brewing Company, signed the UN CEO Water Mandate further demonstrating the company's commitment to water stewardship.

We have implemented an Environmental, Health and Safety Management System in each of our business units which apply to all operations and processes. A scorecard is in place to record corrective action reports, environmental incidents, energy and water usage, solid waste generation and recycling, lost time severity and incident rates and safety participation. Over the past year we have made significant progress in our energy reduction plans and target setting both at a corporate and business unit level. Recent Energy Efficiency Awards
