Anthony Zolezzi

Anthony began learning life lessons when he was 12 years old. He grew up as the son of a fisherman, so while he spent his time with 12 other crew members on a boat, he also saw firsthand the effect that pollution had on the earth’s oceans. Since then, Anthony has devoted his life to causes that heal the earth, including organic agriculture, corporate sustainability programs, alternative energy, recycling (with Greenopolis) and the Pacific garbage. He even worked for Prince Charles on his messaging!

Anthony has co-written five books: “Chemical-Free Kids” (2003), “The Detachment Paradox” (2004), “How Dog Food Saved the Earth” (2005) and “Do Something: Leave Your Mark on the World” (2007). His latest book, Uncharted Waters, describes the summers he spent as a young boy aboard his father’s tuna boat, the Mimi Lou. When he’s not pursuing green business ventures, writing on sustainability issues or saving the planet, one plastic bottle at a time, he is busy being the creative head honcho for the Greenopolis website.

To say that Anthony cares about the environment is an understatement. For the past 25 years he has been cultivating his love for Mother Nature and developing ways to create businesses that protect the planet. He also doesn’t just talk the green talk, he also walks a green walk…literally! He currently resides in Los Angeles and walks wherever he can, sometimes leaving 1-2 hours ahead of time to truly enjoy his emission-free mode of transportation. However, when he does have to drive, he limits his travel distance.

Anthony is excited for the future of Greenopolis, and is “proud to work with a spirited group of people that enjoy what they’re doing.” He believes in the collective spirit of the Greenopolis community, and hopes that it will continue to be a relevant source of recycling and waste information for readers.
