Jeff Smith

Prior to working on Greenopolis, Jeffrey had a long career (14 years) in advertising and marketing in Hollywood. He’s done it all, from producing movie trailers, TV shows and marketing materials for all of the major studios and TV networks, to writing a movie called "New World Disorder" that starred Rutger Hauer and Andrew McCarthy. To top that off, he also wrote, produced, directed and/or edited over 500 commercials.

During Jeffrey’s time in Hollywood he also founded several web marketing companies, including PreviewIt (a video marketing application for studios) and Bloggator (a blog aggregation website that helped studios track what was happening in the blogosphere in its infancy). Now Jeffrey combines his experience as a writer, producer and creative director to work as the content and social media czar of Greenopolis.

To live a green lifestyle, Jeffrey recycles and conserves as much as he can. His love for all things green began with of a trip to church one Sunday, when he was listening to his Pastor talk about the importance of being green. His Pastor said that it would be a sin to waste the precious resources that God has given us, and that we would be showing a lack of gratitude for His gifts. In other words, we would be taking everything that we have for granted. Since that day Jeffrey has embraced the message, and he says, “Since I've believed for years that a lack of gratitude for what we have is one of the prime components of the troubles with today's world, that made sense to me and I've tried to be greener since.”

Jeffrey believes in being happy, and part of this happiness comes from being green. He thinks that “people should stop complaining about things that they can’t change, and start working on things they can...like recycling and conservation.” This passion for life is what makes him a successful czar for Greenopolis, and a happy pug owner at home.
