Ryan McGinnis

Growing up in Long Beach, California taught Ryan a lot about enjoying life and living with limited resources. His love for the environment grew from his daily explorations of nature, as well as what his geologist grandfather taught him about loving the earth’s elements. When he was 15 (and not even tall enough to reach some of the control buttons) he started working as an intern at the local cable company, Charter Communications. While there he learned every aspect of TV and film production, and soon began working with the city of Long Beach on live shows. From there he moved into breaking and hard-hitting news, starting his own media service working for such companies as CNN, CBS, NBC, ABC and FOX.

After traveling around the country and working for a few successful and not-so- successful TV reality shows, he was contacted by his cousin Melissa McGinnis to shoot a feature film with some very well known actors. This big break changed his life, and when Melissa asked him if he was interested in shooting a green show that focused on recycling and conservation, he said “I am all about it!" That’s how Ryan became the awesome behind-the-scenes producer and director for Greenopolis TV.

Ryan says that living a green lifestyle is not easy by any means, but he started by taking one step at a time. “Like everyone else I started with recycling my water bottles and soda cans, etc., and then it moved into the health products I use, such as organic tooth paste and eco friendly soap.” Every day is exciting for him because he loves to find out new ways to help the environment and planet.

As far as being a part of the Greenopolis team, Ryan says “Working on Greenopolis TV is bigger than life, and it will replay many, many years from now.”
