The items sold at your local market usually are seasonal and driven in from local farms thus using less oil in transport and in growing by cutting out petroleum based pesticides. Walk or ride your bike instead of driving and you can further cut down on oil expenditure. Don't forget your re-usable tote and say no to oil based plastic bags! Share
