Infrastructure going green

A strong telecommunications infrastructure is critical in running businesses which create a significant contribution toward an enabling economy. If the enablement isn't happening through the power grid, companies will be forced to look at other avenues. Over the long term, companies will be able to better understand the workings of solar power and use it as an effective means of generating environmentally-friendly power. Companies have also started to look at technologies that would play a vital role to cut costs and at the same time, aid to environment.

Blowin'in the wind‏

In case you haven’t noticed, there is a global crisis far greater than the financial challenge. Perhaps it isn’t felt as much in Pakistan or the emerging markets because we have been a part of the ‘power load shedding” phenomena for years but global warming impacts each one of us. And companies who are making a conscious effort to ‘go green’ and tweak technology that has smarter, more efficient electricity demands, are the ones who are getting the airplay.

Doctors Are The Third Leading Cause of Death in the US, Causing 250,000 Deaths Every Year

This week's issue of the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) is the best article I have ever seen written in the published literature documenting the tragedy of the traditional medical paradigm.

This information is a followup of the Institute of Medicine report which hit the papers in December of last year, but the data was hard to reference as it was not in peer-reviewed journal.

2 greenhouse gases on the rise

WASHINGTON - Carbon dioxide isn't the only greenhouse gas that worries climate scientists. Airborne levels of two other potent gases — one from ancient plants, the other from flat-panel screen technology — are on the rise, too. And that's got scientists concerned about accelerated global warming.

The gases are methane and nitrogen trifluoride. Both pale in comparison to the global warming effects of carbon dioxide, produced by the burning of coal, oil and other fossil fuels.

LAPTOPS MADE OF BAMBOO

the eco friendly looks that wood gives there are benefits to using bamboo.

Bamboo is more biodegradable than plastic, and bamboo can be harvested in a sustainable way since it grows very fast like a weed. Plastic uses too much chemicals and is difficult to biodegrade. You can recycle plastic, but we must develop computer components in a way that they can be taken apart for recycling. Until then we are just going to see these hazardous electronic parts back in the landfill.

Anyways there are more options for bamboo computers such as the:
